How Much Can You Save?

EVAP rebate amounts depend on the type of electric vehicle. The highest incentive levels are available now in 2026 and will step down each year until the program concludes in 2031.

Battery Electric & Fuel Cell
Covers 100% electric vehicles (BEV) as well as hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV) with zero tailpipe emissions.

Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV)
For vehicles that pair an internal combustion engine with a rechargeable plug-in battery system.

The following Toyota models may qualify for EVAP incentives, depending on trim and final transaction value. Not all trims are eligible — our team can confirm your specific configuration. Eligibility is ultimately determined by Transport Canada.

Who Qualifies

EVAP Eligibility at a Glance

The 2026 program focuses on affordability and supporting domestic production. Below are the key requirements established by Transport Canada.

Individual Buyers
Each individual may claim 1 EVAP incentive over the full 5-year program (not a rolling window — one total from 2026 to 2031).
Businesses & Organizations
Companies, non-profits, and government fleets may receive up to 10 incentives over the program's lifetime. Approved car-sharing companies may qualify for up to 50 per year.
Final Transaction Value
The total agreed-upon price — including options, add-ons, and dealership fees — must be $50,000 or less. Important: Canadian-manufactured EVs have no price cap and qualify regardless of cost.
Where It's Built
The vehicle must be manufactured in Canada or a country with a Canadian free-trade agreement. Vehicles built in China are not currently eligible under EVAP.
New Vehicles Only
Only new, unregistered EVs qualify. Demonstrator vehicles are eligible provided the odometer reads under 10,000 km and the vehicle was never previously registered to a consumer.
Lease Proration
Leases of 48+ months receive the full incentive. Shorter terms are prorated using the formula (full rebate / 48) x lease months: 36 mo = 75%, 24 mo = 50%, 12 mo = 25%.

Incentives Decrease Each Year

EVAP is designed to reward early adoption. The highest rebates are available now, stepping down annually through 2030. The incentive amount is based on when the dealership submits the eligibility assessment.
